The 2001 William H. Roehrick Lectures in the Fine Arts presents Xu Bing and Britta Erickson on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. in the Chemistry Auditorium. Bing is an installation artist and winner of a MacArthur Prize in 1999. He will give a presentation on his work and its place in both Chinese and contemporary western art traditions.

Britta Erickson, independent scholar, Stanford, CA, will give a lecture, The Place of Language in Chinese Art at the Close of the Millennium. She will place this exhibition within the broader context of contemporary Chinese art. Ms. Erickson has curated several exhibitions of contemporary Chinese art in the US and is currently working on a major exhibition for the Smithsonian.
