Mathematica Now Available

By Nhora Lucia Serrano

LITS is thrilled to announce that Hamilton College has now college-wide licenses for Mathematica (which has many mathematical software tools) and Overleaf (a technical typesetting platform). Contributing to the Digital Hamilton Initiative, these platforms will facilitate learning and research related to mathematics and statistics from solving equations, visualizing solutions, building interactive models, to visualizing and analyzing data (from elementary to advanced, including neural networks and machine learning), and image processing.

In addition, Mathematica is a great tool to facilitate interdisciplinary projects. For example, people use Mathematica for graphic design, iconography & typography, and even for music theory. By utilizing Mathematica and their resources, Hamilton students will have another opportunity to think across disciplines.

For more immediate information on how to access the unlimited license, please see below. Additionally, soon we will have more information on Mathematica on LITS Resource Center.

Lastly, on our Calendar & Upcoming Events page to “Expanding the Classroom” webpage, you will find that NERCOMP is offering a free, virtual webinar on how to use Mathematica online on August 25th -- please register here through the NERCOMP portal.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
