These devices use passive solar technology to compact the landfill and recyclable waste streams to increase time between pickups.
Non-alkaline rechargeable battery recycling stations are located at Beinecke (near the Mail Center) and the Taylor Science Center Stockroom. Place all rechargeable batteries in the 5-gallon yellow buckets, and they will be recycled through RBRC.
The only batteries that are recyclable are those that are rechargeable. The two most common varieties include:
Cell phones may be placed in the 5-gallon container in their entirety. You do not need to remove the battery from cell phones.
Automotive lead-acid batteries should not be collected through this program. Please contact the Physical Plant if you have a lead-acid battery to recycle.
Ink jets from personal printers and toner cartridges from copier machines may both be collected at stations located at Beinecke (near the Mail Center) and the Taylor Science Center Stockroom. These devices are all recycled through Envirosmart.
