Hamilton will host “Faculty of Color in the Liberal Arts College,” a two-day conference sponsored by the New York Six Liberal Arts Consortium, on Thursday and Friday, April 11-12.

Students came back from spring break to some good news concerning sustainability on the Hill. Hamilton was the winner of the three-week NY Negawatt/CCN Competition Challenge among New York Six Liberal Arts Consortium peer schools. The student body, led by Hamilton Environmental Action Group (HEAG) reduced electricity consumption across all Hamilton residence halls by 5.8%, which equates to 27,909 kilowatt hours or approximately $2,500.

The New York Six Liberal Arts Consortium, of which Hamilton is a member, has received a $15,000 planning grant from The Teagle Foundation for a project titled “Faculty Work and Student Learning in the 21st Century,” aimed at exploring the changing nature of faculty work at leading liberal arts colleges.
