Lecturer in Music (Percussion)

Erik Lutters has been a band director in public schools since 2012 and is an experienced performer, including in a percussion concerto with the Volta Trio and the Eastman Wind Ensemble.

Lutters also performed as a member of the host ensemble in the 2009 International Marimba Competition in Paris. That same year he was principal percussionist with the Eastman Wind Ensemble during its performance at the Midwest Convention. He was with the Volta Trio when it was a finalist in the International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition at Carnegie Hall.

In 2007, Lutters earned third place in Drum Corps International’s World Championship as a snare drummer with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps.
