Geeta Pasi
Sol M. Linowitz Visiting Professor of International Affairs
Geeta Pasi is the Sol M. Linowitz Visiting Professor of International Affairs. Her United States Foreign Service career included serving as ambassador three times (Ethiopia, Chad, and Djibouti). Her overseas postings were Bangladesh, India, Germany, Romania, Ghana, and Cameroon. Pasi was the Inaugural Donald F. McHenry Visiting Professor in Diplomacy and International Affairs at Illinois State University from 2023-2025. She graduated from Duke University with a bachelor’s degree, and completed a master's degree in French Studies (an interdisciplinary program focused on French politics and society) at New York University. Pasi grew up in Herkimer, N.Y., a short drive from Clinton, and studied in Paris on the Hamilton College Study Abroad program.. She remains engaged in policy discussions, including as a participant in a December 2025 forum on Strengthening American Security Assistance at the Robert M. Gates Global Policy Center at the College of William & Mary.
