Jon Fredric West has lectured and given master classes at opera companies and universities around the world. In his singing career West has performed with many major opera houses and conductors in the United States and Europe. He collaborated with such notable conductors as Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel and Claudio Abbado, among others. West was a frequent guest artist of the Salzburger Festspiele, Easter Festspiele, the Edinburgh Festival and elsewhere. He has recorded extensively. In 2006 West was awarded a Doctor of Musical Arts, Honoris Causa which carries full rights and privileges from his Alma Mater. In 2010, he was recognized with the prestigious “Centennial Award of the 100 Most Influential People in 100 Years of Bowling Green State University.” He received his bachelor of music degree in vocal performance from Bowling Green State University and did graduate work at Manhattan School of Music and at Juilliard American Opera Center.
