Juan Sebastian Riaño Garcia recently completed his master's degree in applied linguistics and Spanish as a Foreign Language from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá. His thesis, "La búsqueda del Dorado: Learning Experience to Strengthen the Acquisition of Gender Agreement in a Group of Chinese-Speaking Learners of Spanish," focused on a gamified experience to practice and improve common mistakes of Chinese students learning Spanish. This work, which also incorporates a theme from Colombian folklore, fostered an understanding of specific student challenges. Garcia has extensive experience living and working in China as a teacher.
