Assistant Professor of Instruction Biology
Kyle Martin is excited to join the Biology Department as a Professor of Instruction in Microscopy. Throughout his academic career, Kyle has been fascinated with how the organs and tissues in our body adapt. After a bachelors in biomedical engineering at Drexel University, he went on to develop computational models of skeletal muscle adaptation during his doctorate work at the University of Virginia. After that, Kyle went to the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden and worked on many fascinating and challenging projects; adipose tissue and sensory neurons cross-talk, kynurenine metabolism and signaling, wearable biometric device testing, and elite athlete exercise adaptation.
