Eight Honored by Alumni Council

The Alumni Council voted for recipients of various volunteer recognition awards over Fallcoming Weekend:

• The Distinguished Service Award, recognizing an employee who has substantially contributed to Hamilton through involvement in student, alumni or other activities in the College community, will be awarded of the spring meeting of the Alumni Council to A. Dean Abelon, a 27-year veteran in the Office of Communication and Development.
• During Reunion Weekend 2010, Charles T. Bates '53 will receive the Bell Ringer Award, presented in recognition of contributions made to the College, its alumni and the community.
• Additionally, the council selected six College Key recipients, recognizing individuals who have performed a service or activity that has directly benefited a specific volunteer program or the College in a tangible way. The latest recipients of College Key Awards are R. Durwood Almkuist II '67, Jon P. Bellona '03, Julio R. Dolorico '88, Daniel R. Garcia '84, Shauna J. Sweet '03 and Sara R. Weinstein '02.
