Assistant Professor of Physics Natalia Connelly published an article in the Astrophysical Journal titled "An Evolutionary Paradigm for Dusty Active Galaxies at Low Redshift." With co-authors from the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell and Caltech, Connelly considered a number of mid-infrared spectra of active galaxies obtained with the Spitzer Space Telescope.

It was love at first sight. At four years old, Will Eagan '11 became entranced by the computer game Math Blaster, which revolved around a mathematical adventure in outer space. For Eagan, math and astronomy are two subjects that continue to captivate him 16 years later.

Tim Minella '09, a double major in government and physics, has been honored with the Chambliss Astronomy Achievement Student Award by the American Astronomical Society (AAS). These awards are given to recognize exemplary research by undergraduate and graduate students who present at one of the poster sessions at the meetings of the American Astronomical Society. Minella presented results of his research at the 213th meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Long Beach, Calif., in January. The awardees receive a Chambliss medal and a certificate.
