Academy Award-winning actor and philanthropist Matthew McConaughey will be the next guest in Hamilton’s Sacerdote Great Names series, on Thursday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m., in the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House. The event will be free and open to the public, but tickets will be required.

The fall semester started off with scores of student achievements and successes. See how Hamilton students have been keeping busy with academic, organization, and club activities.

The grand reopening of Burke Library’s first floor, a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Fallcoming Jazz, and poster sessions of students’ science and Levitt Center summer research were among the highlights of a Fallcoming Weekend that brought nearly 1,000 family members and alumni, along with rain and chilly weather, to the Hill, Oct. 5-8.

In its first meeting of the 2023-24 academic year, the Hamilton Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa elected 10 members of the Class of 2024.

Even during the summer, Hamilton students kept busy pursuing projects that reflect their talents and interests. Greeted by signs and cheers from orientation leaders lining College Hill Road, 463 new Hamilton students and their families arrived on Aug. 15 for move-in and orientation.

Hamilton alumnus and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack ’72 and Rep. G.T. Thompson, chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, will kick off Hamilton’s 2023-24 Common Ground series with a discussion about bipartisanship, agriculture, and climate. The event will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. in Wellin Hall. Edvige Jean-François ’90, a media consultant and award-winning journalist, will moderate.

Hamilton’s Alumni Council has elected three alumni trustees to serve on the Board of Trustees for four-year terms beginning July 1. They are Edvige Jean-Francois ’90, Kevin O’Donnell ’89, P’22,’25, and William Schmoker ’89.

More than 1,200 alumni, family and friends descended on the Hill to Party On, reconnect with old friends and make new memories at Reunions 2023, on June 8 to 11. Of special note, this year marked the largest Hamilton 50th Reunion class - with 82 registered.
