While some scratch and claw their way to the top of the food chain, two-star Michelin rated Chef Christopher Kostow '99 sautés his way to the top. On its web site, Food and Wine announced that Christopher Kostow won the Best New Chef of 2009 award, "because his superlative modern Californian menu owes as much to his garden as to his mastery of avant-garde cooking techniques. And, the critics are exactly right!
