  • In response to the tragedy in New York, members of the Hamilton community gathered in the Chapel for an open forum, "Terrorism: Thinking About the Attack on the U.S." This forum was supported by the Arthur Levitt Public Affairs Center and the Kirkland Project for the Study of Gender, Society and Culture.

  • We are encouraging our students to take advantage of the Blood Drive on campus September 25, which is being sponsored by the Inter-Society Council. The Red Cross strongly encourages you to make an appointment because they have a specified number of technicians at the drive and may not be able to accommodate walk-ins. ISC will have sign-up tables in Beinecke next week, Wednesday, Sept. 19 through Friday, Sept. 21.

  • Hamilton College will host a campuswide open forum tonight, Thursday, Sept. 13, at 8 p.m. in the Chapel, titled "Terrorism: Thinking About the Attack on the U.S." Faculty panelists will include Shoshana Keller, history; Yael Aronoff, government; Ann Owen and Tolga Koker, economics; and Russell Blackwood, religious studies. This is not a public event and is open to members of the Hamilton community.

  • The Hamilton College field hockey team lost to Oswego State, 2-1 in overtime this evening at Hamilton College.

  • The Hamilton College women's soccer team opened their 2001 season at home this afternoon against Brockport State. Despite being out-shot by Hamilton the Golden Eagles were victorious, 2-0.

  • The men's soccer game that had been rescheduled for Sunday, September 16th at 1 p.m. at home against Rensselaer has been postponed indefinitely. The game was originally scheduled for Friday, September 14th but had been moved to the 16th.   • Thomas Diggins, visiting assistant professor of biology, published a paper, "Cluster analysis of the Chironomidae of the polluted Buffalo River, New York, USA," in the Proceedings of the International Society for Theoretical and Applied Limnology (Verh. Internat. Verein. Limnol.) This December issue was released September 2001.

  • The lecture by author Lorene Cary scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 13 has been cancelled.
