The 7th Annual AIDS Hike for Life will take place at Hamilton College on Sunday, April 24. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and walks begin at 11 a.m. AIDS Hike for Life is a 5K walk committed to raising funds that provide direct care to families and individuals living with AIDS, and help support ACR's Teen AIDS Task Force prevention program in area high schools.

Currently in Upstate New York more than 28,768 people are living with AIDS.  Many do not have the resources they need to survive ACR wants to make sure that people living with HIV/AIDS have the basic things they need (like food, shelter, clothing, medical care and education) to enable them to live out their lives with dignity.

AIDS Hike for Life has raised more than $160,000 in the past 6 years.  It has become the most significant fundraiser for AIDS in Oneida, Herkimer, Lewis and Madison Counties.  The money raised to date has helped ensure the basic needs of people living with HIV/AIDS will be provided.

In 2004, more than 500 people (corporations, churches, clubs, organizations, agencies, small businesses, families and individuals) joined the fight against HIV/AIDS and raised more than $39,000.

Organizers this year hope to have 60 teams consisting of 5 or more walkers and participation of more than 600 individuals and team members.
