Students participating in the NYC program enjoyed a performance of Puccini’s La Boheme at the Metropolitan Opera House in Manhattan on Feb. 20. This was the first experience at the opera for many students in the program and they were captivated by the storyline, the beauty of the music, and the grandeur of the sets.
The storyline of La Boheme encompasses love, joy, and tragedy, three characteristics that are very common to Puccini operas.
Before the performance, the students were treated to a wonderful dinner at the near-by Nick & Tony’s Cafe. The students owe these experiences to the gratitude of Kevin’ 70 and Karen Kennedy. We are all extraordinarily thankful and appreciative.
Student author Jeffrey Rabinowitz '12 is a graduate of The High School for Math, Science and Engineering at City College New York.
