Visiting Professor of Communication John Adams was interviewed for an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick's legal woes, in which Adams coined a new descriptive term, "weblebrity." The article, "Biting wit comes at Vick's expense," describes a new dog chew toy that looks like Michael Vick, in response to his alleged involvement in dogfighting. According to Adams, "It's all about the Web and what I'll call 'weblebrity.' The Web has so many possible ways of cashing in on a person's current fame — or infamy. Vick's miseries are a timely topic; the Web enables anybody with a computer and an Internet connection to immediately publicize anything that's currently hot or not," Adams said.
