As the holidays quickly approach and snow continues to fall on College Hill, the Hamilton Alumni family turns their thoughts to their experiences at Hamilton and will soon celebrate the College's namesake by participating in the annual Alexander Hamilton birthday parties.
The Al Ham birthday parties have become a trademark event for Hamilton College, and nearly 30 cities will celebrate his 251st birthday during the week of January 7, 2008. Several cities will hold parties with Alexander Hamilton impersonators, Hamilton trivia contests, the time-honored birthday cake and ice cream and educational discussions about Alexander Hamilton's role in American history.
Although the format will vary from city to city, the message is the same. Celebrating Alexander Hamilton's birthday offers alumni, parents and friends an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones and celebrate Hamilton College.
If you are interested in hosting an Alexander Hamilton birthday party in your city contact Elizabeth Bowman, Office of Alumni Relations, through e-mail at elbowma@hamilton.edu or by phone at 866-729-0314. For the birthday party schedule, please click on calendar of events.
