Of all the framers" Richard Brookheiser notes in Alexander Hamilton: American, "the most energetic wordsmith was Hamilton." He adds, "Hamilton's relationship with words was intimate and inexhaustible." More than two centuries after this remarkable statesman and first Secretary of the Treasury agreed to serve as a trustee and lend his name to the fledging Hamilton-Oneida Academy, students at Hamilton College continue to have an intimate and inexhaustible relationship with words. We take writing seriously; in the age of information no less than in Hamilton's time, words are power. The faculty is pleased to recognize the following students for their achievements in writing in the Spring, 2003 semester.
