Sarah Rieber Aloisi ’01 has been appointed director of contracting strategy and analytics at Tufts Health Plan, a healthcare coverage provider with more than one million community members in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.
According to a recent press release, in this new position, Aloisi is responsible for “collaborating with providers through innovative partnerships to manage the cost of care.” She will also work to design value-based contracting models and support providers after they have adopted these models in order to improve quality and cost.
Aloisi has been a member of Tufts Health Plan since 2004. She started as a healthcare analyst before being promoted to contract manager of network contracting in 2008. Last year, she was promoted to manager of commercial contracting, making her responsible for developing strategy, designing analytics and leading negotiations for physicians and hospitals. Before her career at Tufts Health Plan, she was a researcher at Innovative Health Solutions in Brookline and Children’s Hospital Boston. This wealth of experience made her an excellent candidate for this next step in her career as the director of contracting strategy and analytics.
At Hamilton, Aloisi majored in both mathematics and psychology and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. In 2005, she earned a master of public health degree with a dual concentration in maternal and child health biostatistics from Boston University. She has published her work in health journals such as the Journal of the National Medical Association and Maternal and Child Health Journal.
