
Assistant Professor of Religious Studies Abhishek Amar participated on a panel titled "Politics of Religion: Patronage, Identity and Religious Centers in the Early Medieval India"' at the Annual Conference on South Asia at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Oct. 17-20.
Amar's paper 'Fragmented Polities and Religious Transmission in the Early Medieval Magadha' questioned the role of major imperial polities in the religious transmission and instead articulated the entangled relationships between local political entities and religious institutions.
