Andrew Gibeley ’16 has been selected to travel to Israel this summer by the Taglit-Birthright Israel project. Gibeley, a creative writing major at Hamilton, will take part in a free, 10-day tour of Israel funded by the project.
Birthright Israel is a collaboration between the government of Israel, private philanthropists and thousands of donors and Jewish communities throughout the world. It provides young Jewish adults with the chance to explore their ancestral homeland, regardless of financial means. The goal of the program is for participants to better understand their Jewish identities and feel deeper solidarity with the worldwide Jewish community.
Gibeley, son of Patricia and Stephen Gibeley, is from Simsbury, Ct., and is a graduate of Simsbury High School.
