Hamilton College will host a presentation by the Appalachian Treasures campaign on Wednesday, April 25, at 7 p.m. in the Science Center Kennedy Auditorium. Lenny Kohm, campaign director for Appalachian Voices, will facilitate the presentation. There will be a video followed by a question and answer session.
Appalachian Treasures is a national campaign to stop the devastation that mountaintop removal coal mining has brought to the land and communities of central Appalachia. This presentation includes photographs of mountaintop removal sites, and testimonies from Appalachian residents impacted by mountaintop removal mining. This event is hosted by Hamilton's Environmental Studies Program and is free and open to the public.
