De Bruin Awarded Grant to Study Militarized Policing
Assistant Professor of Government Erica De Bruin was awarded a research grant from the Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA ) to support a new project on militarized policing.
Her research will examine how the rise of militarized policing in the Middle East and North Africa has affected political stability. The grant will allow De Bruin to hire a research assistant and conduct archival research in the U.S. National Archives in College Park, Md., when it reopens. She will present the results at the 13th Annual ASMEA Conference in November.
