Author and Newsweek editor Christopher Dickey will present a lecture, "Fact, Fiction and Foreign Policy," on Thursday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. in the Chapel at Hamilton College. It is free and open to the public.

Dickey is author of the new novel The Sleeper (Simon & Schuster). He has served as Newsweek's Middle East regional editor since 1993 and as Paris bureau chief since 1995, reporting regularly from Baghdad, Cairo and Jerusalem. He reports on European politics, economy, society and new technologies, as well as developing stories throughout North Africa, the Near East and the Persian Gulf. Dickey plays a key role in Newsweek's coverage of the war on terror and writes the weekly "Shadowland" column -- an inside look at the world of spies and soldiers, guerrillas and suicide bombers -- for Newsweek Online. In addition to Dickey's novels, his nonfiction books include Summer of Deliverance, Expats and With the Contras.
The lecture is sponsored by the Office of the President.
