Black Student Union is planning several events in celebration of Black History Month. BSU has a black history timeline in Café Opus and African American biographies posted throughout the campus.
Feb. 17, the film Miss Ever's Boys showing in the Red Pit from 7-9 p.m. (open to the entire campus).
Feb. 18, community service at the House of Good Shepherd.
Feb. 19, play by Mark Cryer "99 Questions You've Always wanted to Ask an African American but were too afraid to ask for fear they'd break their foot in your --!," Wellin Hall.
Feb. 23 Black Empowerment Day. To commemorate Black History Month, we are inviting the entire campus to participate in this event. To honor African Americans who made great contributions to black history we invite the entire campus to wear black that day. At 6:30 p.m. we ask the college community to gather on Martin's Way to march with candles and spoken word accompaniment to the Red-Pit. At the Red-Pit we will have a reception and faculty-led discussion from 7-8 p.m.
