Samuel F. Pratt Professor of Mathematics Debra Boutin and William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of Mathematics Sally Cockburn recently led a research team at the Workshop for Women in Graph Theory and Applications, sponsored by the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications in Minneapolis, Minn.

Boutin and Cockburn introduced the team to work that quantifies the symmetries of networks. The full team then spent the week researching these quantities for new network families, obtaining new results and laying the groundwork for continued collaboration on this project.
