The final Kirkland Project Brown Bag talk of the semester will feature Judy Owens-Manley, on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at noon in the Emerson Hall (E.L.S.) living room. Owens-Manley, associate director for community research at the Levitt Public Affairs Center, will discuss "New communities, new cultures:  How are Bosnians faring 5 - 10 years after arrival?"

Owens-Manley describes her talk: A series of key informant interviews with police, employers, public school personnel, human service providers, etc. give a community perspective on how one of our newest immigrant populations is doing.  Utica has the fourth highest density of refugee population in the U.S., and Bosnians have comprised over 40 percent of the refugee population resettled by the local refugee center.

We serve cookies from Cafe Opus.  Brown bag talks are informal.  Bring your lunch and join us for discussion.  For more information, call the Kirkland Project office at x4288.
