Director of Visual Communications Catherine D. Brown was the guest speaker at a monthly meeting of the Upstate New York branch of AIGA, the professional association for design committed to advancing design as a professional craft, strategic tool and vital cultural force. Brown, who managed her own design business for 15 years prior to coming to Hamilton, addressed the topic of freelancing.
Attendees at the Nov. 8 event included faculty from Pratt MWP and Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) and students from Pratt MWP, MVCC and SUNYIT.
As a freelance designer, Brown’s clients included Hamilton College, Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, the Mohawk Valley Network and Utica College, among others.
