Bruce Miller '85, executive vice president of Bank of New York Mellon, was recently recognized at the company's inaugural Fugio Awards.  The Fugio Awards honor individuals for extraordinary demonstration of the company's values and brand behaviors.  Miller was one of three individuals selected by the company's Executive Committee.    


Miller received the Fugio for Outstanding Client Focus, recognizing his contributions toward establishing the Platinum Client Group and his success in winning new business with Platinum Clients. Gerald Hassell, president, chairman and CEO of BNY Mellon, also acknowledged Miller's leadership of Prism, the company's affinity group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees and their allies, which has grown significantly under his guidance.  Miller is a member of the company's Operating Committee, serves on the company's Global Diversity and Inclusion Council and was recently elected a member of the National Board of Directors of GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation). 


"Bruce has made a career of bringing the voice of the client into our organization," Gerald said. "He's tenacious and has a passion for winning. When he needs to get something done for our clients, he gets it done, rallying the organization around the effort."


Miller was a government major at Hamilton and went on to receive his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania.  Miller has been with BNY Mellon for nearly 28 years.
