Associate Professor of Music Heather Buchman conducted the children’s concert “It was a Dark and Stormy Night” on Oct. 25 at Inspiration Hall in Syracuse, N.Y.
Part of Symphoria’s Kids’ Concert Series, the educational performance featured original story narration with compositions by Mussorgsky, Grieg and Mendelssohn among others.
A review in The Post-Standard (Syracuse, N.Y.) said, “Children, and the lucky adults they brought with them, cheered for each segment of the program, charmed by the music and often mesmerized by the visual component above the stage.”
Buchman is the education and outreach conductor for Symphoria, a Syracuse-based professional orchestra that serves Central New York.
