Alan Cafruny, the Henry Platt Bristol Professor of International Affairs, was interviewed for an article on international trade policy and the presidential election that appeared in the Norwegian newspaper Dagsavisen on Aug. 4.
In “Finner sammen mot handel,” Cafruny said this year’s presidential election shows the trade policy has led to a crisis for both Democrats and Republicans. He noted that the increased resistance to international free trade agreements, increased nationalism in Europe and lower global growth may be signs of the beginning of the end of the neoliberal era, where privatization, de-regulation and international trade was strong.
