Chambliss to Serve on ASA Council
Daniel Chambliss, the Eugene M. Tobin Distinguished Professor of Sociology, was recently elected to serve as an at-large member of the Council of the American Sociological Association (ASA). The Council is the 15-member governing board of the ASA and the organization’s top policy-making body.
The only member chosen this year from a small college, Chambliss has previously served on the ASA’s program and nominations committees. He also served on prize selection juries for both the association’s annual book prize and for contributions to teaching, which he chaired.
