The APSA Organized Section on Public Policy is a scholar network that organizes around producing rigorous empirical and theoretical knowledge of the processes and products of governing and policymaking.
At the conference, Chen also presented a survey experiment study titled “Framing Effects on Public Support for Imported Liquefied Natural Gas in Germany,” coauthored with Verena Benoit at University of Bamberg, Germany.
Chen and Benoit conducted a multi-stage experiment in Germany in summer 2026 to investigate two research questions under the backdrop of the Strait of Hormuz crisis: how climate change framing and energy security framing affect German respondents’ preferences toward using imported liquefied natural gas as an energy source, and what explains such effects.
