
Cheng Li, the William R. Kenan Professor of Government spoke at a symposium hosted by The Chicago Society at the University of Chicago, on May 1. The goal of the symposium, titled "China and the Future of the World," was to "encourage better understanding of the complexities of modern-day China, especially its rapid social, economic, and political transformations, the foreign policy aims of the government and its role in the global economy."
Li, widely recognized as an expert on Chinese leadership, addressed the topic of "Politics and Society in China" in a discussion moderated by Professor Dali Yang, chair of the of political science department at the University of Chicago.
