Associate Professor of East Asian Languages and Literatures Zhuoyi Wang gave an invited Zoom talk to the Chinese Language Teachers Association (USA) on Jan. 22. About 170 people, most of whom are Chinese language teachers across the U.S., watched the talk, which was titled “Can we overcome cultural stereotypes by teaching cultural ‘authenticity?:’ the case of teaching the legend of (Hua) Mulan.”
It was Wang’s fifth invited talk to the association and based on his scholarly research and media article on Mulan.
