The Hamilton College Choir and College Hill Singers begin their concert tour of Italy on Thursday, March 19, in Abano, Italy. This marks the choir's sixth European concert tour. The 73-member choir, under the direction of G. Roberts Kolb, professor of music and director of choral music at Hamilton, will perform in Pisa on March 21 and Perugia on March 24.

A highlight of the trip will be participation in a 5 p.m. Mass at St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican on March 26. The choir will perform four motets there: Bruckner's Ave Maria, Palestrina's Super flumina Babilonis, Milhaud's Babylone and Carissimi's Plorate filii Jerusalem. The trip will conclude with a performance at the Church of San Marcello in Rome later that evening.

In recent years the choir has toured the Midwest, East and South during spring recess.
