The Hamilton College Choir will present a send-off concert for its annual spring break tour on Wednesday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m., in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts.
March 11: 3 p.m., Old South Church, Boston, Mass.
March 12: 7:30 p.m., Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, Conn.
March 13: 7:30 p.m.,The Church of the Holy Trinity in Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, Pa.
March 15: 7:30 p.m., The Community Church of New York, New York City
This year, Hamilton’s 70-member choir, under Director of Choral Activities and Vocal Studies and Assistant Professor of Music Jace Saplan, will be touring the Northeast with stops in Boston, Fairfield, Conn., Philadelphia, and New York City.
The program, “Out of the Void and Into the Darkness,” is a musical exploration of pieces that speak to the journey of overcoming obstacles and enduring hardship, all while embracing the beauty of life’s surroundings. The concert will feature Brahms’ robust Zigeunerlider, Mozart’s triumphant Te Deum, and innovative works from the Philippines, India, and Hawai’i.
