Sixty-nine members of the Hamilton College Choir will spend a portion of their spring break this month traveling to the Midwest for the annual choir tour. This year's tour will take the choir as far south as Cincinnati and north to Appleton, Wisc.

Under the direction of G. Roberts Kolb, professor of music and director of choral music at Hamilton since 1981, the choir and College Hill singers will present a selection of both sacred and secular works. The program will include works by Handl, Lassus, Monteverdi, Pinkham, Barber, and Whitacre, as well as a Beatles medley and a selection of folk songs and spirituals.

This year the choir will perform concerts throughout the Midwest, including Buffalo on March 13; Cleveland, March 14; Appleton, Wisc., March 15; Wilmette, Il., March 16; Chicago, March 17; Cincinnati, March 18; and Pittsburgh on March 19. The choir's "home" performance of the program will take place on Friday, April 4, at 8 p.m. in Wellin Hall.

The Hamilton College Choir boasts an uninterrupted tradition of fine choral singing that dates back for over a century. The choir travels regularly throughout the eastern half of the United States and has undertaken five concert tours in Europe over the last 20 years, including 2005.
