The Department of Classics hosted a performance of THE ILIAD by the Curio Theatre Company on February 6 in the Chapel. The concise performance of Homer's Iliad used the power of the spoken word, with music and rhythmic accompaniment, to evoke the epic with humor and emotional power.
The Curio Theatre Company (www.curiotheatrecompany.org) is dedicated to the creation of theatrical works with an open eye to what is possible in performance from classic and contemporary works of art. The company searches for what is truly modern about the classics and uses what the classics teach us about life to inform its contemporary work.
