World-famous climber Tim O'Neill will speak on Wednesday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Science Auditorium. O'Neill will speak about speed climbs in Yosemite, first ascents in Patagonia and his making of the film Urban Ape, which has won two international film festival awards and was shown last month at Hamilton College's presentation of the Banff Mountain Film Festival. This talk, which is free and open to the public, (not recommended for children,) is brought to you by the Hamilton Outing Club and the Office of the President.
O'Neill climbed the outside of a 12 storey dorm, stopping on the way to ask through the window if anyone had seen his dog (a small Irish Setter). His presentation is well known on the climbing circuit as the funniest, most irreverent and entertaining around. Adventure Program Director Andrew Jillings says, "His presentation will be appreciated by climbers and non-climbers alike."
