Some 50 students from Clinton Central Schools joined forces with Hamilton College students to stage an evening of performance celebrating Hamilton’s bicentennial at the Clinton performing arts complex on Oct. 27.
The program, titled “1775-1812: Life Stories, Correspondence, and Debate in Early America and the Mohawk Valley,” included performances from Clinton’s 4th and 5th grades, middle school and high school. Members of Hamilton’s debate team also staged a mock debate on Hamilton’s financial plan to reduce the country’s debt in the early 1790s.
