Hamilton junior Brian Coakley scored to tie the game at 2-2 with underthree minutes remaining in regulation, and then scored the game winner just1:24 into the overtime as Hamilton survived a scare from sixth-seeded Colby inthe ECAC quarterfinals with a 3-2 win at Sage Rink.
The Continentals struck first on a John Manley goal on an assist fromDavid Webb, but the White Mules scored the next two goals, one each inthe second and third periods to take a 2-1 lead. But Hamilton hung aroundbehind the solid goaltending of Brent Davey (31 saves), setting upCoakley's heroics.
Hamilton, the third-seed advances to the ECAC Semi-finals, where they willface the #5 seed Salem State Vikings, on Friday, March 6th at 4 p.m. The gamewill be played at Connecticut College. SSC beat Hamilton 3-2 on a late goallast month at Hamilton.
