Linking theory and practice was the goal of the "Real World Panel Series" that students in Lecturer in Communication Susan Mason's Organizational Communication class planned and facilitated over the last four weeks. By bringing together both on- and off-campus speakers, students developed panels that offered unique insights into various areas of organizational communication. Speakers and topics included:

Walcott-Bartlett Professor of Religious Studies Jay Williams '54 and LuAnn K. Losito, senior financial advisor at Merrill Lynch, discussed the issues and opportunities gender and generations present in the workplace.

Commercial photographer Bill Briggs P'10 and Stephen Harper Kirner Professor of Computer Science Stu Hirshfield reflected on technology's impact on internal and external organization communications.

Lecturer in Communication Robert DelBuono and Jerry Pitarresi '71, New Hartford Central School English teacher and varsity football coach, commented on the uses of leadership and motivational communication in organizations.

Hamilton Director of Annual Giving Jon Hysell '72, and Connie Anderson P'10, director of organizational communication at Pepperidge Farms Inc., discussed public relations, marketing and advertising.

Jon Hind '80 Hamilton's athletic director and Rick McWilliams P'09, athletic director at the Millbrook School, discussed the role of communication in the recruitment and training of employees.

Assistant Director of Residential Life Chad Laliberte and Mark Leuthauser, an Oneida County Social Services conflict mediator specializing in family relations, addressed how to understand and manage team and organizational conflict.
