Hamilton College's annual convocation will take place this year on Sunday, Aug. 27, at 4 p.m. in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center. The traditional ceremony will open the college's 195th academic year, bringing together members of the administration, faculty and students.

President Joan Hinde Stewart, Dean of Students Nancy Thompson and Dean of the Faculty Joseph Urgo will offer welcoming remarks, and scholarships and achievement prizes will be awarded to students. Among prizes to be awarded are The Benjamin Walworth Arnold Prize Scholarships, given annually to the holder of a regular scholarship in each of the sophomore, junior and senior classes who has achieved the best record in college coursework in the preceding year. Also to be awarded is the Brockway Prize, given to the rising sophomore who has the best academic record.

The convocation will be followed by a picnic for members of the campus community.
