Cora Alsante ’85 has recently been selected by Hancock Estabrook, LLP, for inclusion in “Upstate New York Super Lawyers” for 2018. Alsante leads the Elder Law & Special Needs practice and is a partner in the Tax and Trusts & Estates Practices. She is also a member of the firm’s executive committee.
Super Lawyers is a ranking publication that selects attorneys using a patented multiphase selection process. Alsante and the other candidates will be evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Major: Philosophy
Alsante focuses her practice on estate planning, trusts, planning for the elderly and disabled, and estate and trust administration. She regularly lectures for the New York State Bar Association, Onondaga County Bar Association, Special Needs Alliance and the Alzheimer’s Association. Alsante also helped to establish the Loretto Foundation Community Trust, a supplemental needs trust, which benefits many seniors and disabled individuals in the Syracuse area.
In addition to her recent inclusion in “Upstate New York Super Lawyers,” Alsante was named one of the "Top 25 Female Upstate New York Super Lawyers" for 2011 and 2013. She was also selected as a Best Lawyers in America “Lawyer of the Year” in the area of “Litigation - Trusts and Estates,” in Syracuse, N.Y., for 2015 and 2017.
