A group of creative writing senior concentrators visited New York City from Oct. 6-8 to attend The New Yorker Literary Festival. Seniors attending were Sarah Ostrow, Devon Stockmayer, Laura Whitmer and Amy Zhang. Associate Professors of Literature and Creative Writing Tina Hall and Jane Springer accompanied the students.
The group heard panels that included authors such as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, George Saunders, John McPhee, Jennifer Egan, Colson Whitehead, Edwidge Danticat, Viet Nguyen, and others.
Over the past several years, the seniors in the Creative Writing Department have had the opportunity to travel to a literary festival. Previous year's trips have included The New Yorker Festival, the Kingston WritersFest, and the Brattleboro Literary Festival.
