On Nov. 5, Matthieu Dalle, visiting instructor of French, participated in a roundtable titled, "Naissance et éclosion des radios libres, de 1977 à 1981," ("Birth and Development of Free Radio [in France] from 1977 to 1981") at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris.
The roundtable, sponsored by the Institut National de l'Audiovisuel (National Audiovisual Institute) and its archive service, the Inathèque, is part of a regular series called "Les lundis de l'INA" (Mondays at the INA). Over the past two years, the series has offered a forum for researchers and professionals to present their work to the public and share their perspectives on various topics related to the media.
The forum on Nov. 5 was attended by approximately 200 people. The panelists were Georges Fillioud, Minister of Communication in the government of Pierre Mauroy (1981-1983); Pierre Bellanger, President of the Skyrock radio network; Marc Pallain, President of the Chérie FM and Rire & Chansons radio networks; Thierry Lefebvre, Assistant Professor in communication and media at Université Paris VII; and Dalle.
