Assistant Professor of Government Erica De Bruin presented a talk titled “Power Sharing and Coups d’état in Post-Conflict Settings” at the University of Mannheim, Germany, on Nov. 15.
The talk previewed new research in progress that suggests the very provisions in peace agreements thought to prevent civil wars from recurring can inadvertently increase the risk of other forms of political violence such as coups d'etat.
