Visiting Instructor of Art Sylvia de Swaan, Professor of Art Bruce Muirhead and alumnus Jake Muirhead '86 are exhibiting their work at the Delavan Art Gallery in Syracuse in a show titled "The Artistic Domain." Stone Canoe, a journal that features work of a mix of emerging and well-established artists and writers with connections to Upstate New York, originally included the pieces in this exhibit in the second edition of the journal. Alumnus Robert Colley '66 is the publication's editor.
The Delavan Gallery will host a reception for the exhibition's opening, on Thursday, Jan. 24, from 5 - 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The gallery is located at 501 W. Fayette Street in Syracuse.
Delavan Art Gallery exists to provide a venue for Central New York area artists to exhibit and sell their art and to offer the community a space to view art produced by those artists. The gallery's hours are Thursdays and Fridays 12-6 p.m., Saturdays 10-4 p.m. and by appointment. The exhibition will be open through Feb. 23.
